Still Working from Home?

So, you are still working from home? (Or partially).

This year has been quite the shift for so many of us. It's been interesting to see first hand the work habits of your significant other, roommate, or family and it can be easy to feel off-kilter. I am sure many of us have started to find our groove after the many months of this, but it’s still great to check in and see how you can feel even better!

While a lot of us felt like the option to stay at home allowed for flexibility and extra time for ourselves at the start, it is easy to fall into a slump or poor habits. Not everyday is going to be great, but I feel better the more I can set myself up for success and work on creating a better environment for myself!

  • Get Dressed

I can be guilty of lounging in my pajamas a little too long if I don’t workout on the early side, but the days I feel my best and get the most done, I am getting dressed. In real clothes- not just my workout clothes! Workout clothes, or a changing into a more put together ‘lounge set’ also works too- but it really does help set you up for a better day. Figure out a few days a week you want to get dressed, and put your best foot forward!

  • Get some movement in ( and get outside if you can!)

A lot of us have forgone our scheduled workout classes, group training, gym memberships, etc. While some studios and gyms are opening back up, the ability to workout at home has also introduced us to new (and often, cheaper) streaming services! Pick a few mornings or evenings each week to fit in a short class, some yoga stretches, a jog, or walk around your neighborhood! Go ahead and think about what days you want to try and fit that in, so it doesn't fall to the wayside. The change of (literal) pace can help break up your day and re-energize or calm you!

  • Hydrate

This one seems easy, but can be overlooked! If you are home, you no longer have to worry about being judged for your frequent trips to the water cooler or restroom! So use that as your permission slip to HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Especially as we head into the winter when warm coffee can be the only thing you think to consume before lunch.

  • Plan some of your meals + meal times!

Not everyone needs a full meal plan, or the rigidity of a plan! However, having a few meals planned before the week starts helps with grocery shopping and making sure you aren’t surviving off just snacks or processed items! Plan to add a few greens and satisfying proteins in with your lunch and dinner each week, and figure out when you are taking your lunch break to fully enjoy it! We have all had the days we snack through the afternoon and just feel sluggish!

  • Clean your clutter

Cleared working spaces help to clear your head and lessen distractions.

  • Connect

Make sure you are taking time to truly connect with co-workers, friends, roommates or loved ones on a deeper level throughout the week! If you are missing out on the random interactions you had with people in the office, at lunch, in the gym, seek those out for those you care for on the phone or in person if you can!
